Eligibility

Eligibility conditions for admission to the distance learning program at Bangalore University include:

  • Eligibility requirements for M.A in social science courses and M.A. degree course in languages such as Kannada, Hindi, English, Telugu, French, Urdu, and Sanskrit is a pass in B.A. degree either from Bangalore University or any other recognized institution with at least a minimum total of 40% marks in all elective subjects and 50 percent of the marks in the concerned cognate course. A pass in other degrees is also accepted.
  • Eligibility for M.A Philosophy is a Bachelor of Arts graduate degree with philosophy, ethics, logic, theology aesthetics, religion, yoga or Sanskrit as one of the elective courses with at least 50 percent marks. Bachelor of Arts and Science is also accepted.
  • M.Sc. Mathematics requires applicants to have a bachelor’s degree in science with an aggregate of at least 40 percent marks in the elective courses and a minimum of 50% in mathematics.
  • M. Com requires a B. Com or B.B.A degree with at least 50 percent marks in commerce courses in all exams.

How to Take Admission into Bangalore University

  • You can apply for the distance education program at BU either online or offline.
  • Download the application form from the Directorate of Correspondence Courses & Distance Education website at www.dccbub.in. Complete the form and submit online upon making a payment of Rs.550 (Rs.250 for SC/ST students) through the school’s account with the State Bank of Mysore, Nagarabhavi Branch (account no.: 6406251218). You can also pay the fee at Axix Bank, Rajajinagar Branch via account number 917020020468197.
  • You can also obtain the form from the office of the Directorate of Correspondence Courses and Distance Education at the Jnana Bharati Campus. This can be achieved by drawing a demand draft to the tune of Rs.550 (Rs.250 for SC/ST students) in favor of the “Finance Officer, Bangalore University, Bengaluru-560056.”
  • If you wish to obtain the form and prospectus by post, you can do so by sending a self-addressed envelope measuring 30cm x 25cm in size. The post should be addressed to the “Director, Directorate of Correspondence Courses and Distance Education, Jnanab Harathi Campus, Bangalore University, Bengaluru-560056.”
  • You will also need to append Rs.200 worth of postal stamps alongside a demand draft to the tune of Rs.550 (Rs.250 for SC/ST students) drawn in favor the “Finance Officer, Bangalore University, Bengaluru-560056.”
