It utilizes simulated and real-like work situations to enable students to apply the data science concepts learned to solve real problems. Additionally, the institution periodically organizes supplementary lessons comprising industry talks and doubt-clearing sessions (18-20 hours per semester for these sessions).

Lecturers use case studies, assignments, recorded lectures, and live interactive lectures to teach. Students are also assessed using continuous assessment tests, quizzes, mid-semester exams, comprehensive exams, and dissertations. The mid-semester and comprehensive examinations are conducted during weekends and take 2-3 hours.

Students can choose to take the comprehensive exams online or from designated examination centres. To qualify for online exams, students must have a laptop with a webcam, a smartphone, and reliable internet connectivity. Student Testimonials

“Hi, My name is Rahul Mishra and I’ve been living here for the last four years in Gurgaon. I’ve been working in WNS as a machine learning engineer. Since the technology is evolving constantly I was searching for some master’s program to upgrade myself and stay relevant. So, one of my friends has told me about the BITS and Its master’s program in data science and engineering. So, I’ve gone through the website and see some roster and curriculum. Initially, I was worried about how I will be able to manage the academics along with the job but this program has online lectures over the weekends and posts my business hours so, it will not impact my work schedule. BITS Pilani has well-experienced lectures one of the faculty which I like the most is professor Vivi Ravi Kumar sir. The reason why I liked him most is he used some whiteboard illustrations to into teachers and it’s easy for us to grasp all of the things which he used to reach the best part of its plan is their virtual labs which you can access on their remote locations on your convenient time. I used it just to perform some experiments on data visualization techniques and also for some machine learnings and algorithm kind of techniques this program is really helpful at my workplace there are some machine learning tasks on which I was unable to perform earlier but with the help of techniques I have learned during this M.Tech data science program I was able to accomplish those tasks. It is also a good thing about this program is if you are missing some lectures during the course you can also go through the recorded classes overall I’m quite happy with the program and I also want to recommend this program to all working professionals who don’t want to quit their job along with the studies and want to pursue their career in data science.
