Programme Curriculum
This is a 2-year programme spread through 4 semesters. Within the first year of study, students undertake core courses that introduce them to marketing and finance.
Additionally, the first semester incorporates communication and interpersonal training sessions to equip students with top-notch negotiation skills.
Within the second year of study, students will be required to specialize in one or two areas (s) of their interest. The four main electives available include:
- Human Resource Development
- Marketing
- International Business Studies
- Finance
Towards the end of the second year, students must also undertake a project to solve a real problem within their area of specialization. They must prepare a report and present it viva-voce to a panel authorized by the institution. They must also undertake an internship to get hands-on experience in solving real problems in the job market.
Admission Process
- All prospective candidates are required to apply for the programme online by visiting the institution’s official website upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Rs.200.
- Candidates will be required to submit their 10th & 12th mark sheets, undergraduate mark sheet, photo ID proof (license or aadhar card), and a passport size photo.
- The application forms will be evaluated by an admission panel. The final merit list will be prepared based on academic qualifications and work experience.
- Successful candidates will be intimated using the email address provided during the application phase. They must pay the programme fee within the prescribed time to avoid the cancellation of the offer.
- Candidates must then print the payment receipt and submit it during admission.
Pedagogy
This programme combines both online and on-campus learning techniques. Students will be required to select their ideal study centres during the registration process.
The centers are located in main campus, Aranattukara, Vatakara, Chakkittapara, Kaniyampatta, Sultan Bathery, Manjeri, Malappuram, Koduvayur, Valappad, Aranattukara, Muttil, Madappally, Devagiri, Malappuram, Valanchery, Thrissur, Mannarkkad, and Chittur.
Students will access their hardcopy study materials through their study centres. They will also have access to online learning materials through an online portal (opened during the registration process). Some of the materials available include recorded lectures, live sessions, digital libraries, and journals.
Additionally, students are evaluated using different techniques. They are required to appear physically at their student centres for the end-of-semester examinations.
Lecturers will also evaluate the students using assignments, continuous assessment tests, case studies, and group discussions. Students will also be required to undertake a project and an internship programme.
Eligibility
- All prospective candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field from a UGC-recognised university.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in their qualifying examinations. The requirement will be relaxed by 5% for candidates in the SC/ST/OBC categories.
- Candidates with at least 2 years of work experience will have an added advantage (not mandatory).

Loans
Distance MBA students can apply for education loans through Calicut University partner financial institutions. The approval of the loans is subject to the regulations of the respective banks. There are no scholarship opportunities for distance MBA at Calicut University.
