Introduction

Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad) is a public business institution located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat State.

It was established in 1961 and has gained recognition as an Institute of National Importance awarded by the Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India.

ePGP and ePGD-ABA are virtual programs for working professionals. They aim at imparting analytical skills to the students. The ePGP is a 2-year course while the ePGD-ABA takes 16 months.

Students attend virtual lectures and several classroom sessions. On completion, students get IIMA Alumni membership after convocation. The fee is as below:

Course Objectives

ePGP course incorporates students from different academic backgrounds, professions, and ages. For example, the 2019-21 batch consists of 7% entrepreneurs and 93% employed students.

Additionally, it has 88% male and 12% of female students with 3-20 years of work experience. It Imparts managerial skills and helps the students to apply various analytical tools on their daily tasks.

Course Description

ePGP is a two-year management program offered through a Virtual Interactive Learning Platform (VILP).

However, students will be required to attend classroom connect sessions at regular intervals to enable them to interact with their tutors and ask relevant questions.

The programme takes more than 850 hours (both classroom sessions and project work).

During the first year of study, students take the core courses to improve their managerial, communication, decision-making, and leadership skills.

Afterward, they will be required to select a specializing area from several fields, including Operations Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Finance, or IT Management.

After course completion, the institution does not guarantee placement support.

Eligibility

All candidates must be working professionals/entrepreneurs with at least 3 years of full-time working experience.
They must hold a Bachelor’s Degree/ ICWA/CA/CS with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or an equivalent CGPA.
The qualifications must have been attained from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource, Government of India.

Admission Criteria

All candidates must apply for the program online through the institution’s official website (https://www.iima.ac.in/web/epgp).

They must possess a valid CAT scorecard (taken within the last 3 years) or GMAT/GRE (taken within the last 5 years).

Those without the CAT/GMAT/GRE must undertake the IIMA Admission Test (IAT).

Candidates will be shortlisted based on the CAT/IAT/GMAT/GRE score. All shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a personal interview at IIM, Ahmedabad campus.

However, prospective candidates may be advised to attend the interviews at other cities as the institution may deem appropriate.

The selection panel will select the most suitable candidates based on the GMAT/GRE/CAT/IAT and the candidate’s performance in personal interview sessions.

Course Objectives

The program intends to offer students with skills to use data in effective decision-making that affect the daily operations of their businesses/firms.

It will impart data visualization, machine learning algorithms, cloud computing, and modeling techniques on students. Additionally, the program analyzes critical public policies and ethical business analytics approaches.

Course Description

ePGD-ABA is a business analytics diploma programme designed to enable working professionals to utilize data while making crucial decisions. Students will undertake core courses to introduce them to basic analytic skills.

Afterward, they will specialize in Human Resource Management, Marketing, Finance, Public Policy, or Operations. It is delivered using both online and on-campus sessions.

The curriculum is categorized into six broad modules.

They include Pre-Term (for foundational studies); Exploratory Data Analysis; Data Analysis Methods and Model Development; Model Communication and Data Concerns; and Domain-Specific Analytics.

The students must undertake at least 3 in-campus modules, each taking a minimum of one week.

Eligibility

Prospective candidates must be holders of a Bachelor’s Degree in any business-related field from a recognized university.
They must also have at least 2 years of full time working experience (preferably in Business Analytics).
This requirement may be waived for candidates with outstanding academic qualifications and strong quantitative and analytical skills.
Also, all prospective candidates must possess a valid GRE/GMAT/GATE/CAT test score. Those without any of these test scores will be required to undertake the ePGD-ABA qualifying test/aptitude test score.
This test attracts a non-refundable application fee of INR 1,000. Admission Criteria

Additionally, candidates must avail valid GMAT/CAT/GRE scorecard. The cut-offs for the tests are 70th percentile and above for verbal and 85th percentile and above for quantitative.

Candidates with the GATE scorecard will require 90th percentile and above. Those without the above-listed scorecards will be required to undertake ePGD-ABA qualifying/ aptitude tests.

Candidates will be shortlisted based on the eligibility criteria and admission tests. All shortlisted candidates will be required to attend personal interviews at Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, or Bangalore.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Are there reservations for ST/SC/OBC categories?

Ans: No, the institution has no reservations whatsoever. However, these categories’ entrance requirements will be relaxed by 5%. As such, PwD, ST, SC, and OBC candidates will be required to have at least a 45% aggregate undergraduate score.

However, such candidates must present a valid certificate as proof of belonging to these categories.

Q2: What is a Studio Classroom? Must I attend studio classrooms? What is the attendance requirement at IIM Ahmedabad?

Ans: This is a place equipped with all the facilities for online lessons. Students must attend at least 80% (for ePGP) and 90% (for ePGD-ABA) of all sessions.

Ans: No, the institution has no age cap requirements. However, the institution has a lower age limit, where all students are required to be 24 years and above.
