1. M. Tech. Computer Science & Engineering with Specialization in Big Data Analytics
This program is designed with a flexible pedagogy that enables the students to access learning materials online. Students will learn the use of Machine Learning Language, Artificial Intelligence, and other techniques to manage big data. Additionally, they will get hands-on experience in database systems management, data mining, and cloud computing.
Course Duration: Two-year postgraduate programme

This program comprises University Core (UC), Programme Core (PC), Programme Elective (PE) and University Elective (UE) courses. The core courses have 45 credits while the electives contribute 15 credits. The core courses include Database Systems, Machine Learning, BigData Frameworks, Exploratory Data Analysis, and Algorithms. 2. M. Tech – Computer Science and Engineering with Specialisation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (In collaboration with C-DAC, Pune)
This program is designed to enable students to formulate and develop mathematical models to solve problems. It intends to impart programming skills, integrates machine learning, and help students to use artificial intelligence in their professions. Additionally, the programme equips students to get the necessary research skills in contemporary issues affecting decision-making.
Course Duration: 2 years
Type of Course/ Medium: Full Time
This programme has a total of 70 credits (49 for core courses and 21 for electives). The core courses include Data Structures & Algorithms, Operating Systems and Virtualization, Mathematics for Machine Learning, Big-data Analytics, Database Systems and Design, and Artificial Intelligence.

3. M. Tech – Computer Science and Engineering with Specialisation in Business Analytics (5-year integrated programme)
This programme is designed for business professionals who need skills in data analysis and management. It integrates computer science programming skills into business modules, thus enabling managers to make data-driven business decisions. It has a total of 220 credit hours spread through the core and elective courses.
Course Duration: 5 years
Type of Course/ Medium: Hybrid
This programme has core courses and electives that contribute to a total of 220 credits. During the first year of study, students undertake university and programme core courses that include foundations of electrical and electronics engineering, digital logic & computer organization, operating systems, data analytics, and computation.
Students are later allowed to specialize in any of the following areas:

All interested candidates are required to apply for the program online by filling the application forms available on the institution’s official website. After filling the forms, candidates must pay an application fee and submit duly completed forms before the deadline. Candidates are then shortlisted based on performance in VIT Engineering Entrance Exams (VITEEE), academic qualifications, and work experience.
Shortlisted candidates are invited for an interview to assess the authenticity of documents and their capabilities. Successful candidates are intimated through the email addresses provided during the application stage. All candidates must confirm their acceptance of the offer before the stipulated deadlines.
VIT has an elaborate online system where students can get study materials, recorded lectures, and live interactive sessions. Additionally, students are required to attend on-campus sessions to have face-to-face interactions with tutors, professionals, and colleagues.
Lecturers use different evaluation techniques such as continuous assessment tests, end-of-term examinations, group discussions, case study analyses, and projects. Students must pick a project thesis from an area of interest to apply their skills to find solutions to a real problem.
All prospective candidates must possess a full-time degree with a minimum 60% aggregate score from a UGC-recognised institution. Candidates appearing for their final semester exam/ final degree examination are eligible to apply.
However, all candidates must have completed their final year/semester examinations before selection counseling. Additionally, all candidates must provide a statement of final year marks/ provisional degree certificate to be considered for admission.

VIT classifies its students based on the VITEEE entrance exam. Candidates who get higher marks are ranked category 1 and pay the least fee. Here are the category ranks based on performance:

Categorization can change at VIT’s discretion. The fee is payable through installments.

The institution does not offer scholarships for M.Tech programmes. However, students can apply for flexible study loans from banks such as Bank of India and HDFC Bank.
