Introduction
Welingkar Institute of Management is a business school that was established in 1977 in Maharashtra, Mumbai. It is run by a charitable trust (the Shikshan Prasarak Mandali, Pune)
The institution established a PGDM program in 2008 which has since become one of the highly ranked programs in India. It is AICTE approved distance MBA college and known for its award-winning management programs.

Course Description
The program is designed to improve the students approach in the following areas:
- Quantitative techniques (both basics and advanced)
- Analytics technology (tools ranging from SAS, SPSS, Python, and Tableau)
- Statistical programming language
- Qualitative research techniques
- Design thinking approaches
- Informatics and visual analytics solutions
- The strong business foundation and data interpretation

All students must cover Business Design and Innovation courses within the first year of study. Before graduating, students must prove their understanding of Frontline Analytic Solver, Python, R, Tableau, Palisade Decision Tool Software, and IBM-SPSS. This is achieved by undertaking several projects.
All students must undertake core courses within the first year of study. They include Business Environment, Business Analytics, and Business Operations & Management. During the second year of study, students are allowed to specialize in any of the following areas:
- Marketing
- Operations
- Human Resource Management
- Finance
The curriculum is highly diversified to use different training techniques including exchange programs, seminars, conferences, and field trips. All students must pass all the evaluations which include group work, assignments, projects, capstone projects, and term papers.
Eligibility
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a university recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. All prospective candidates must have achieved at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.
Candidates must provide a valid CAT test scorecard. Those with valid XAT, CMAT, or GMAT will also be considered.
Students in their final year of study can apply so long as they scored a minimum of 50% aggregate in their latest examinations. In case of admission, such candidates must prove that they have met all graduation requirements in their current institution.
Work experience is preferable but not mandatory. There is no age limit for this program
Application Process
All interested candidates must apply online before the deadline. They are required to register and create an admission portal where all their admission data will be posted. Candidates must pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 2500 failure to which the application will be rejected
Admission Criteria
After receiving all the application forms, the admission panel selects all the candidates who meet the minimum requirements. The selection process is based on the following factors:

All shortlisted candidates are invited for a personal interview, group discussion, and a written ability test. Each of the interview sessions is evaluated and candidates awarded marks based on their performances
Based on the cumulative score, the best candidates are awarded admission for PGDM at WeSchool. They are required to confirm their interest within the stipulated timelines failure to which the offer will be revoked

Fee Structure
The total fee for the program is Rs 12.6 lakhs. It covers tuition fees, learning materials, and refundable deposits. The fee is payable in six installments (each trimester). The fee can be divided into:

Ans: Your application can be rejected if you filled in your details incorrectly, you sent it after the deadline, you did not upload the required documents, or you did not sign the documents.
Q2: Can I get a second chance after an unsuccessful first attempt?
Ans: Yes, candidates are allowed to reapply for PGDM during the next intake. However, the same admission process will be followed. As such, you should improve your credentials to increase your chances of success.

Ans: No, students are at liberty to seek alternative accommodation. However, it is mandatory that they attend more than 75% of the lectures on time.
